William Harkness Greer, Sr. emigrated from Ireland to America at the age of 22, at the persuation of his brother Samuel, aged 28. They arrived in New York May 23, 1837 passengers on the Ship Garrick. They joined their Uncle, William Harkness who had settled in Magnolia, Ohio.
