CLARENCE S. GREER
Clarence S. Greer, retired business man of Magnolia, and one of it most prominent citizens, died Thursday
morning at 9 o'clock in his home. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from
the late home.

DEATH TAKES WIDOW OF CLARENCE GREER
Mrs. Margaret Cable Greer
Dies at Magnolia

Mrs. Margaret Cable Greer, widow of Clarence S. Greer, died Monday night in her home in Magnolia. She was 79.
Mrs. Greer was born in Sandyville, a daughter of David and Mary Evans Cable, and was married to Mr. Greer in
1882. She spent her entire married life in Magnolia and was a member of the Magnolia Lutheran church, devoting
much of her time to the church organizations.
Surviving are one son, Richard C. Greer, president of the Magnolia bank, one daugher, Mrs. Mary Greer Portz, wife
of Rev. C. A. Portz of Newcomerstown; three sisters, Miss Jane Cable and Mrs. Cora Summers of North Industry and
Mrs. Laura Lupher of East Sparta; one brother, James D. Cable of Sandyville, and five grandchildren. A daughter,
Mrs. Ada Greer Beatty died in 1907.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in the home. The body will be placed in the mausoleum in the
Magnolia Cemetery. The body is at the McCreery parlor and will be taken Wednesday where friends may call after 3
p.m.
