The Dining Room Window

The Stately Pines
by the winds from the West
have bent in time
they did their best

The Lilac and Rose bush
planted from young starts
by the hands of my Mother
and though a distance apart
have become good friends
to each other

The Barn, with sagging roof
the West wind, could tear it off
with just one poof
but the Swallows came to rest
and upon the rafters,
built their nests
and left the Pines
they did their best
